Editorial Standards

How we report, source, correct, and separate news from opinion.

Accuracy first

We publish only what our reporting can support. If a detail is uncertain, we say so rather than guess. Every factual claim in a story is expected to trace back to a source our editors have reviewed.

Sourcing

We prefer named, on-the-record sources. When a source must remain anonymous — for example, to protect someone from retaliation — we explain in the story why anonymity was granted, and at least one editor independently verifies that source's account before publication.

News, analysis, and opinion

We clearly label each story as a straight news report, an analysis/explainer, or an opinion piece. Opinion content reflects the view of its named author, not of Time Telecast as a publication, and never runs without a byline.

Corrections & clarifications

When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. A corrected article carries a visible correction note stating what changed and when. We don't quietly edit a published story to erase a mistake.

Independence & conflicts of interest

Our reporters and editors disclose conflicts of interest to their editors and recuse themselves from stories where a conflict could reasonably affect their judgment. Sponsored or partner content is always labeled and is never produced by the newsroom.

Comments

Registered readers can comment on any story under their real account, and every comment is visible to everyone immediately — we don't pre-approve or hide comments before they post. Readers can edit or delete their own comments at any time. We expect the same standard we hold ourselves to: no harassment, threats, or illegal content. Content that crosses that line may be removed and repeat violations may result in account action.
